Celebrated on the occasion of Lord Rama’s birthday, Sri Rama Navami is a Hindu spring festival, observed on the ninth and last day of Chaitra Navratri. Sri Rama Navami marks the arrival of Lord Vishnu’s seventh avatar, Rama.

Sri Rama’s form is a divine and auspicious form. In the Treta Yuga, Sri Vishnu Bhagavan descended as Sri Rama, on this earth as the son of King Dasharatha, Sri Rama. He embodied the beauty of Supreme Truth, the magnificence of knowledge, heroism, bravery, and magnanimity. He was the epitome, of what the Vedas regarded as the “Purushottama”, with these divine attributes. Lord Rama’s purpose has been to discipline those who were unrighteous and holding unethical and unprincipled values and protect and uphold the good in the world. Reading Sri Ramayana is equivalent to reading the Vedas.
