Karthika is the most auspicious month for worshiping Lord Shiva, and Karthika Purnima, also known as Tripuri Purnima or Tripurari Purnima, commemorates Lord Shiva’s victory over the demon Tripurasura symbolizing the triumph of divine light over darkness.

On Karthika Purnima day, a special Chandi Homa will be performed at Amma’s Penusila Ashram in India.
Chandi Homa is a sacred fire ceremony invoking Goddess Chandi, the fierce and compassionate form of Adi Shakti—the primordial energy responsible for creation, sustenance, and transformation.

According to Devi Mahatmyam, the Divine Mother appears with eighteen arms, each holding a weapon to dispel darkness and protect Her devotees. Worshiping Goddess Chandi through this powerful homa removes negative influences, dissolves curses and obstacles, and bestows prosperity, courage, and divine protection.
